Our Approach
Type: PC Polycarbonate Greenhouse
Area: 8,000㎡
Covering Material: Double-layer PC panels for superior insulation and heat resistance
Structure: Hot-dip galvanized steel frame, designed to withstand strong winds and sandstorms
Systems: Intelligent climate control system (temperature & humidity sensors + automated ventilation + supplemental lighting)
Challenge
Qatar features a typical desert climate with high temperatures and scarce rainfall, where summer outdoor temperatures can exceed 45°C. Agriculture is almost entirely dependent on controlled-environment facilities. Our client, an agricultural investment company, aimed to cultivate high-value crops such as strawberries and blueberries in premium greenhouses to meet the growing fruit consumption market in the Middle East.
Key Innovations
Double-layer PC panels minimize heat stress on crops
Fully automated environmental controls enable precise temperature and humidity regulation
Supplemental lighting ensures consistent photosynthesis during low winter sunlight
Drip irrigation with water recirculation maximizes water efficiency
Impact
Achieved stable blueberry cultivation in a desert environment, increasing yield by 40%
Supplied produce to local five-star hotels and supermarkets, creating significant premium value
Recognized as a “High-Tech Agriculture Demonstration Project” locally, receiving government support
